We have standardized kits and custom solutions available depending on your needs. Typically boats under 40 feet long require one unit, while boats between 40 – 100 feet long require two units. If your boat is longer than 65 feet then a custom solution is recommended.

Can I install a thruster unit myself?
Yes, most Dickson stern thrusters are installed by boat owners and can be placed while the boat is in the water. The units are transom mounted, requiring no holes below the water line. Thrusters are placed above and in front of the plane of the hull, resulting in no increased water resistance and positioned for protection from underwater objects.
